EDEL RAMBERG DESIGNS LAUNCHES SECOND COLLECTION

No Comments Uncategorized

Last Spring saw the successful launch of Edel Ramberg Designs, one of Ireland’s most prestigious, trendsetting milliners and hat designers. After a year of styling glamorous events, celebrity clients, receiving rave reviews and in response to huge demand, Edel Ramberg has launched her Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, which will have ladies ready for any stylish event, wedding or racing action.

Edel explores the elegant endless possibilities of shape, colours and textures for hats, fascinators and head pieces using exceptional millinery techniques. Her spring 2011 collections portray Edel’s artistic and daring side. It is comprised of two parts, in one collection, entitled ‘In Memory’; she draws inspiration from the art of disguise and the unknown mystery of the afterlife. In stark contrast her ‘Fatal Attraction’ collection captures the bright colours of killer plants that are so beautiful to look at, but survive on killing insects, offering the bright, colourful headpieces. These two contrasting themes give Edel’s collection a huge variety of colour and texture.

Edel Ramberg Designs also offers bespoke pieces and will specially create and customise a head piece, hat or fascinator to suit each individual’s needs and wants. Edel tells, “People are being more adventurous with their headwear now and I am seeing a huge demand in my everyday pieces like the Turban as well as a jump in brides having something unique made for their big day. I really enjoy this aspect of my job, a lady can come into my studio, show me a picture, dress or even describe an idea and we can create something original to suit her taste and wishes that no else will ever have”.

Edel Ramberg, who worked alongside some of the Irish design greats such as celebrity favourite Philip Treacy and Joanne Hynes, commenced her fashion career whilst studying for her BA in Design at Limerick School of Art and Design and has now become one of Ireland most sought after milliner. Each piece is handmade by the designer herself with great attention to detail, using traditional millinery techniques with hand crafted wooden blocks to shape each base with felted wools and sinnamays. Edel also uses alternative materials moulding plastics, wires and paper mache to create her light and contemporary pieces.

Log onto www.edelrambergdesigns.ie to see some of her work or find Edel Ramberg Designs on Facebook. Edel’s collections are also available at Emporium Kalu, Naas, Co.Kildare and Don’t Call me Dear, Galway.  Edel is now taking appointments for bespoke pieces for the races, weddings and special events.
